  1. The Airbnb property behind us has “16” as its occupancy and they call it a “6 bedroom.” It is really a 4 bedroom – 2 of the bedrooms have 2 sets of bunk beds. It attracts a lot of bachelor party’s. One morning last month they were out at “5:30 am cranking it up” and decided to throw a beer into my pool. That’s when I called the police. Normal neighbors wouldn’t do these things!

  2. My life in my peaceful and beautiful Scottsdale townhouse has been ruined by the Airbnb party house next door. As a 4-bedroom, it’s an attractive nuisance. The neighbor on the other side has called the police numerous times. One group trashed our pool and shower/locker room. I’m also looking to move. Please STOP THIS ruination of my whole townhouse community.

  3. After living next to a 3 bedroom Sedona AirBnb for 2 years I was forced to move because of the noise and disturbance and the occasional lost guest who would literally wander into my backyard, thinking My home was the AirBnb and looking for the house key. There were always extra cars parked in front of my house and loud parties on the deck near my bedroom window and bright deck lights shining in my room, keeping me from sleep when I had to get up and work the next day. To these vacationers, even Tuesday night is cause for celebration and it was so disruptive to my quiet enjoyment of my home that I was forced to find another place. Not an easy feat in a town with 2500 AirBnb listings (population 10,000).
There are so few long term rentals available now that many of my friends have moved away and we are having a shortage of workers who are able to live in town. I have 7 friends, at least, who work in Sedona but now live in the outlying areas and have a 25-45 minute commute to work because they couldn’t find a place to live in Sedona. And outlying rentals are scarce now too.
This is not acceptable and the law needs to be revised to allow for home sharing residents only to rent their places on AirBnb, and not investors who don’t live locally.
